Unfortunately, Alan and I lost today 3 and 2 to Chris Kelly and
Heather MacRae - worthy winners I have to say - they played great
together and eventually went on to win the Tournament so
congratulations to them both!
On my own ball today, I have to be honest and say that it was
very much a mixed bag - some good and some poor. I hit the
ball well off the tee but the approach shots into the greens proved
somewhat tricky today - my distance was out and found it tricky to
judge the cross winds!
From tomorrow onwards, I'll be busy teaching and rolling out my
Winter Performance Plan which, so far, has been greatly
received.
The winter is a great time to knuckle down to some hard graft on
my game and I'll be making changes here and there! I've
changed my clubs from Wilson to Titleist so really need to get to
work on woods/irons and wedges and sharpen them up! Once next
season comes around in March/April 2012, I'll be ready to shoot
some good scores and hopefully climb up the order of merit.
I also have some corporate days booked out in the diary which is
great - it's a real pleasure for me to meet new people and help
them with various aspects of their games. At the same time,
it's good for those clients to get together and forge good
relationships going forward in a relaxed atmoshphere.
As I like to keep up the competitive edge over the winter, I've
registered again to play in the Ayrshire Alliance - next game is on
9th November at Western Gailes.
I'm looking forward to seeing the progress in my own game come
on and also my pupil's games too - all of them have worked really
hard on their games this year and know that with continued
commitment over the winter, they'll see the results!
